“And now, time for something fun,” said Head of Upper School Stuart Cushman, as the sun set over Don Forti Stadium and the last graduate crossed the stage. With that, a spectacular fireworks show lit up the night sky and signified the end of a challenging, although memorable, school year. University School was given special permission by the Village of River Hills and the North Shore Health Department to hold the outdoor ceremony, where guests wore masks and maintained social distancing.
In her last Commencement address as head of school before her retirement, Laura Fuller encouraged graduates to approach others with empathy and compassion. Graduates also heard from Rahul Mullick ’20, valedictorian; and alumnus Lafayette Crump ’91, who gave the Commencement address.
